Duke Gets Revenge Beating North Carolina State at Cameron
Duke almost scored 100 points in the game, but were two shy at 98. However, it did give up 85 points to the Wolfpack. Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry combined for a very impressive 56 points in the contest. However, Quinn Cook chipped in with 21 points of his own.
The Blue Devils allowed 50 points in the second half, but they did lead by 21 at the break.
This was a huge victory for the Blue Devils and it ensured that they are the best team in the ACC. Yes, the Miami Hurricanes may have a two-game lead in the conference, but just wait until they have to come to Cameron. NC State got Duke on the road, but that was obviously not the case when the Wolfpack had to play the Blue Devils on the road.
Duke is now 20-2 on the season, with a 7-2 ACC record.
Losing Ryan Kelly for the time being obviously hurts Duke, but it showed no signs of weakness, scoring at will against North Carolina State. Just imagine how good this team will be once Kelly is back. Well, you really don’t have to imagine too hard, considering that Duke beat three top five teams at the time earlier in the year at full strength.
The Blue Devils will not play Miami until March 2, but you can bet that Duke will avenge its loss from earlier in the year against the Hurricanes just like it did to North Carolina State. That game will also likely decide on who wins the ACC regular season title, however, who knows because that is almost a month away and we are talking about college basketball here.
