Nate Wolters is a name not all college basketball fans know, but tonight he proved once again why he is one of the best scorers in all of college basketball. Wolters is a guard for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits and is the most underrated player in all of college basketball.
Tonight, all Wolters did was set a career high 53 points. Yes, 53 points for a player on South Dakota State. He led his Jackrabbits to a 80-74 victory over IPFW. Wolters and the Jackrabbits are now 19-6 as they look to head back to the NCAA tournament and be a bracket buster.
With Wolters on their side, they have no reason to believe that they can’t shock the college basketball world. Especially when he is shooting 17-28 from the field including 9-14 from behind the arc. Those are some serious numbers to put up in a game, especially to shoot that good from the field. Wolters also shot 10-11 from the free throw line, he just flat out couldn’t miss tonight and he has been that way all season.
On the season he averages 21 points, but he doesn’t just score. He also averages 5.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. When you have a scorer like Wolters who can also pass with that efficiency. He is a complete player and the Jackrabbits know they can revolve their team solely around him.
Wolters is gaining a lot of attention already for the Division 1 season high in points and people are going to begin to learn just how good this kid is. He is a hard worker and his work has paid off for him as he has been at the top of the scoring leaders the last 3 years.
South Dakota State will have a successful year as long as Nate Wolters can continue making defenses look bad and himself look that good.
