Are you not up to date on your Marist Red Foxes hoops this season? I know I’m sure not. Yesterday the Red Foxes pulled out a miracle victory over the Iona Gaels in double-overtime. But you don’t care that a 6-18 team beat a 14-10 foe. No sir, you are far more interested in how it happened. Marist’s Chavaughn Lewis decided to hit a 65 foot heave as time expired at the end of the first overtime, sending it to another five minutes of action that ultimately ended up with a Red Foxes victory.
Other than the fact that nobody could tell me what a Gael is(Or was?), the shot of beauty that helped propel Marist to victory was only one of the few storylines to come out of the game. The other, the 105 points Marist scored was the most it put up since a 119-108 loss to Niagara Jan. 18, 1999. Not only is that some useless trivia, it’s something I don’t think a die-hard Marist fan knows.
Okay, no more stalling, you came for the video. I am a man of my word, and you guys are Marist fanatics, so here it is:
Notice all 85 people in the crowd going simply bonkers. Nothing has excited the Marist fanbase like this since they started to host the Poughkeepsie Regatta at Longview Park on the Hudson River(A rowing event). Another trivia fact as well, Marist is not named the Red Foxes because of comedian John Sanford. Google it, you know you want to.
I dare you.
