No. 2 Florida Rebounds From Recent Loss By Blowing Out Mississippi State
What a surprise, considering that the Bulldogs have only won seven games on the year, while Florida is the best team in the SEC. The Gators are now 19-3 on the year and 9-1 in the conference, thanks to their 83-58 point victory over Mississippi State.
Now, Florida will look ahead to its showdown with the Kentucky Wildcats on Feb. 12. That matchup will have a lot of significane, since that it is a rival game and the winner will be the team to beat in the conference. Florida may be No. 1 in the standings right now, but Kentucky is just a game back at 8-2 in the SEC.
However, Florida will have a huge advantage playing at home. Not to mention, the Gators will likely be ranked in the top five and are one of the best teams in the country. This team is kind of good at home. Just ask Mississippi State that, who was Florida’s most recent victim.
The Gators have not lost a single game at home and will most likely continue this trend against Kentucky. However, you can expect that game to be much closer, since the Wildcats are starting to play how people thought they were capable of coming into the season.
Mississippi State was not the toughest competition in the world for Florida, but it was a great tuneup game and it likely got the Gators’ confidence back, which is exactly what they needed.
