Wisconsin Badgers Guard Ben Brust Hits Miracle Three to Force OT and Upset Michigan Wolverines (Video)
If you are a Wisconsin Badgers fan chances are you are either going bonkers right now or are starting to drink in celebration. With mere seconds on the clock, Wisconsin guard Ben Brust hit a miracle three-pointer to force their game against the Michigan Wolverines to overtime. Brust, who is a junior that averages just over 11 points per game, has never hit a shot that big before in his entire short time on this earth.
Clearly, a Big Ten game that is headed to overtime is somehow another reason for all you “experts” to tell us how college hoops is down. Or, it is really another reason why this season is awesome. Another day, another buzzer beater, and another chance for me to post a cheap video article.
Here is the shot that sent the game to OT:
In the extra frame the Badgers pulled off another upset of a highly ranked team this season, continuing the trend of every game meaning something this season. Whether teams are playing for seeding, the number one ranking, just to get into the tournament, or some self-pride, this college season has shown that nearly anything is possible.
Wisconsin only needed five points in overtime to take down the number three ranked team in the country, as Michigan only managed to score two.
After the game a slew of folks will complain about this game being “Yet another example of a down year”, but I am here to ask, were you not entertained? Because that’s the point, to be amused while watching the games.
And it is only 2 in the afternoon!
