Looking Ahead to Florida and Kentucky Matchup In College Basketball

The No. 2 Florida Gators and Kentucky Wildcats will go head-to-head this week in college basketball, which is a game that will decide who will be at the top of the SEC standings.

Florida is currently the top dog in the conference, with a 9-1 conference record, while the Wildcats are just a game back at 8-2 in the SEC. So, if Kentucky did pull off the upset at home, it would only tie the Gators in the standings, but it would hold the tiebreaker.

Florida is coming off of a win in against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, after dropping its first game in conference play earlier in the week against Arkansas.

As for Kentucky, it will enter the rivalry game against Florida with a five-game winning streak.

The Gators will be the favorite coming into this contest, but Kentucky is playing just as good as anyone right now. The Wildcats have five players scoring in double-digits, including four freshmen. However, Florida has been just as well rounded on offense, with four Gators scoring in double digits this season.

Florida has all of the experience in the world, with three seniors being in the starting lineup and making the Elite Eight the past two seasons. Kentucky is pretty much the exact opposite, with four very talented freshmen getting most of the minutes.

Whether the case, rankings and overall records go out the door when these two rivals meet. However, Kentucky will have to play its best game of the season, since it will be playing on the road and Florida has been blowing competition away all season long.
