The Indiana Hoosiers have tons of talent. This was known prior to the season because head coach Tom Crean has a squad that has its eyes on a National Championship on that first Monday in April.
One of the Hoosiers’ biggest star performers this season has been junior guard Victor Oladipo and NBA scouts are taking notice in return. Oladipo, who is well-known for his superior athleticism, has put together a monster season for Crean and the Hoosiers, so it’s only fitting that his NBA potential has been soaring in response.
On the season, Oladipo is averaging a career-high 14.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. His production has been crucial in reliving pressure from some of the other Hoosier stars, most notably Cody Zeller and Christian Watford. This balance is what makes Indiana that much more dangerous as a squad.
As for Oladipo’s draft stock, he has currently found himself in a range that is distinct and it’s one that could cause him to make a difficult decision at the conclusion of the season. Draft Express currently positions Oladipo at No. 9 within their 2013 mock draft. NBADraft.net however, has him in the mid-to-late 20s. Either way, that first round potential is a testament to the season that he is having.
It’s become clear that the his potential is on the rise. In fact, he may just now be hitting his stride in terms of that. In turn, that could make one NBA franchise very happy down the stretch.
Indiana and Oladipo will look to stay in pursuit of a regular season conference title on Wednesday night when Nebraska comes to town.
