The Harlem Shake has hit the world like a Russian meteor, see what I did there? There are thousands of different videos on YouTube of teams, businesses and cartoons doing their own rendition of the dance. Thursday night after the Louisville Cardinals beat the St. John’s Red Storm, the Cardinals did their own.
Now before you watch the video, you must prepare yourself. If you don’t know who Russ Smith is, aka Russdiculous, you will not enjoy this as much as people who do. His wild shot selection and hilarious nature makes him one of the most special players in college basketball. You may recall the bunny ears he gave coach Rick Pitino after they one the Big East championship last season.
Ok, now you are ready.
Rick Pitino begins the video with a congratulations on a great win, then Russ Smith stand on his chair. What Pitino says next is actually something he says a lot, usually it is in the middle of a game. “What are you doing?”
Montrezl Harrell and Kevin Ware sat there while their teammates danced, but even that added to this amazing video.
In his press conference after the game, Pitino said he had done some dancing with the team in the locker room. I did not see Pitino dance, but I bet his hair stayed in place.
I am not that into dance craze videos, but what is fun about these is that we get to see college kids have fun. College basketball season can be very intense, this video shows that the Louisville Cardinals can relax a little bit.
I am sure there will be a new craze next year, I can guarantee now that Russ Smith will own that video too.
