The Marquette Golden Eagles are not only having a good year on the court but are having an awesome year on YouTube. Whether is has been the Golden Eagles victory over Big East rival the Pittsburgh Panthers yesterday, the birth of the Marquette bat and his Twitter account, or their fans doing something other than the Harlem Shake(THANK YOU!).
In the Golden Eagles victory over the Panthers the student section was having a lot of fun. While dancing to music, a pair of them actually stood out from a crowd of thousands. Not because their dances moves were extra fancy, but because it made us all remember the good old days of Sesame Street.
Here is two of the more creative Golden Eagles fans doing some form of dance:
Ah, Sesame Street. While I was never a huge Beaker or Bunson guy(I am pro-Mr. Snuffleupagus) I can appreciate the attempt of rekindling childhood memories by these two gentlemen(or women). However, I have to admit, I don’t know if the two Sesame Street characters have any relevancy towards Marquette hoops. I mean, are they students, could they be alums, can this be NCAA representatives(Probably) that came to watch the game. I fear I am missing something with this.
Regardless, this is just another moment of the college basketball crowd being the best kind fanbase in the nation. And for the Golden Eagles, they continuously set the bar high for opposing teams wishing to have as much viral success. A bat and now muppets, what can possibly be next?
