Miami (FL) Hurricanes Being Led By Hungry Senior Roster

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami (FL) Hurricanes remained undefeated in conference action after sneaking out a close 45-43 victory over the Clemson Tigers.

Improving their conference record to 12-0 is only another example of how determine this Hurricanes roster appears in order to make this season a special one.

Five of the biggest pieces on the roster are seniors, which means they understand this is the end of the line in terms of their college basketball careers. Julian Gamble, Durand Scott, Reggie Johnson, Kenny Kadji and Trey McKinney Jones all understand this season is going to last as long as they want it to.

All five are playing exactly like a senior is expected to play, at a high level with a high basketball I.Q. These aren’t the North Carolina State Wolfpack, a team loaded with talent being held back by boneheaded decisions. This Miami (FL) team is setting school records while finding multiple ways to pull out victories, with no better example than the Clemson win in a game the Hurricanes would even admit was far from their best outing.

The five seniors want to play as long as they can, and they understand in order to do so they’ll need to play at a high level every night.

These five could easily be proud of what they’ve already accomplished for Miami (FL) and allow their heads to grow while Dwayne Wade and LeBron James cheer on from the sidelines. Luckily for Hurricane fans, that appears to be the last thing the seniors are going to do as a national championship would be the ultimate cherry on top of a history making season.

With five hungry seniors looking to make the most of their final year of college basketball, Miami (FL) will be one of the most dangerous teams when the calendar flips to March.
