If you think that Cody Zeller is the best player on the Indiana Hoosiers, you need to watch a game. If you watch them play, you will see that Victor Oladipo is the actual big guy on that team. The Hoosiers had a big game against the Michigan State Spartans and Oladipo was the guy making the plays down the stretch–just another reason why he is going to be the Naismith Player of the Year.

There aren’t many players who have the story that Oladipo has. He was a good player his first two years in college, but his play this year has shocked a ton of people. Zeller was the guy who got all the preseason hype, but it looks like we should have been paying attention to Oladipo. His play has certainly elevated him to a national star and he should end up being a lottery pick in the NBA Draft.

He finished the game with 19 points, nine rebounds and five steals, but he absolutely owned the final minute. When the Hoosiers were nursing a one point lead, a leak out from Dipo ended in a dunk. When the team needed to get a key rebound, Dipo was the guy coming down with it and making two key free throws.

It is going to be a great race for this award, but Oladipo keeps elevating his game when they are on the national stage. It is hard to ignore a guy who thrives when the national spotlight is on, which means he is my pick for this prestigious award.
