Tuesday night’s showcase game between Michigan State and Indiana was more than expected to be a close and epic battle.

Two of the nation’s top four teams meeting on the hardwood for Big Ten Conference supremacy, well it just doesn’t get much better than that. The game itself did not disappoint, as the Spartans and Hoosiers battled late in a close contest as expected, that was appreciated by college basketball fans across the country.

Well, in games like this one, hustle plays can make a world of a difference and when you’re talking about Indiana star guard Victor Oladipo, it’s only fitting that he had one highlight reel worthy play. Oladipo finished the game with 19 points, nine rebounds and five steals, taking over the game at times with a number of crucial plays for Indiana and head coach Tom Crean.

Early on in the contest, with things still very much undecided, Oladipo made a statement by sprinting back on defense during a fast break attempt by the Spartans. Known for his athleticism, Oladipo soared and swatted away a shot attempt from Michigan State’s Travis Trice.

Oladipo’s block ended up in the crowd and more than likely saved two points in a contest that came down to the wire.

Take a look at the video clip below:

Oladipo’s stardom continues to be on the rise and its plays like this one that continue to earn him the attention that he has so valiantly earned. Indiana took control of the conference standings with their 72-68 win at Michigan State on Tuesday.
