William Carey University is known for basketball, actually most NAIA colleges aren’t. But Thursday night during halftime of the senior night game against Auburn University Montgomery, a cheerleader did something that would be impressive at any Division I college.

The cheerleader named Ashlee Arnau flipped at halfcourt, she then picked up the ball mid-flip and shot the ball. Not only did the ball go in, it swished.

The small crowd was impressed in Hattiesburg, Miss, at least most of them. Here is another view from a fan.

This is something I have never seen before, a Harlem Globetrotter like trick. This girl should travel around arenas doing halftime shows. She could make thousands.

The video of the shot instantly went crazy on Twitter, ESPN’s Sportcenter and other less known sporting news shows, I am sure it will be on all the morning talk shows. She may even get an interview with Oprah or Kathy Lee.

But seriously, this was an amazing shot. Perhaps the greatest shot by a cheerleader ever. Many may ask how athletic cheerleaders are, this girl showed that at least the ones at William Carey can do some spectacular stuff.

William Carey won their senior night game against AUM, 69-60. They ended their regular season 23-4, with a conference record of 16-2. I don’t know much about NAIA basketball, but I would assume they should have a good chance of making it far in the post season. If not, at least they have this highlight.
