Seton Hall Pirates Commit Aquille Carr Considering Overseas

The Seton Hall Pirates are not the world’s greatest basketball program. In fact, they aren’t the greatest pirates-related college in the nation(Up for debate, obviously). However, there has been some buzz around them landing a recruit named Aquille Carr. Carr, a shade shorter than 5’7, has been making the internet rounds for some time now.

Carr is the epitome of the new YouTube world, despite his small nature and risky decisions while handling the basketball, folks are memorized by his video highlight packages. Once considered a fringe top 50 recruit in the nation, Carr has fallen off for some off the court issues. Grades, assaulting his child’s mother, and making it clear he wants to make basketball his living.

Carr has been recently quoted as saying, well, exactly that(Credit to the Baltimore Sun):

“Seton Hall is still my choice right now,” [Carr] said of the school to which he committed orally last year. “But I’m thinking about a lot more stuff that I could advance to. I think I’m ready to make it like my job. If you know about basketball, you know what that means. By the end of the season, everybody will find out.”

Here is the thing about Carr, while I am sure Seton Hall would love to have him, many don’t expect him to ever be academically eligible. Not to poo-poo on the Pirates parade, but if this kid is talking professional hoops already and doesn’t care to focus on his grades, the Carr era for Seton Hall will likely never be.

Who knows, maybe that’s a good thing.
