Indiana Will Have to Earn No. 1 Seed for Big 10 Tournament

The Indiana Hoosiers are currently the No. 1 team in the Big Ten standings, along with the top team in the nation. However, the Hoosiers will have to earn a No. 1 seed for the Big Ten tournament.

Indiana is currently on a four-game winning streak, but it will have to play two ranked teams in its last four games. The Hoosiers should have no problem against Minnesota and Iowa in their next two games, but this is the Big Ten we are talking about. Not to mention, Minnesota is fighting for a ticket for the NCAA tournament.

The Gophers are searching for another big win on the season, so they will be bringing their best in a home game against Indiana.

The Hoosiers currently have a two game lead in the conference, but that will mean nothing to No. 16 Ohio State and No. 4 Michigan. Indiana will have to play both of those teams in back-to-back games to end the season.

Cody Zeller and the rest of the Bloomington boys have beaten both of those teams this season and victories in those games will ensure not only a No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, but likely the No. 1 seed overall in the big dance. However, the game against Michigan will be one of the toughest games of the season so far, considering that it will be on the road for the Hoosiers and the Wolverines have not lost a game yet at home.

Expect a March Madness like atmosphere in Indiana’s last four games–three of those games will in fact be played in March.
