Louisville Cardinals Going With Sleeves for NCAA Tournament

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Louisville Cardinals are a mortal lock to make the NCAA Tournament this season. They are not in a position, like many other teams, where they are fighting their way down the stretch to earn some key victories to earn an at-large birth. No sir, they are currently in the midst of a battle for the Big East regular season title, but even that isn’t that big of a deal to head coach Rick Pitino.

The Cardinals are a team that will be looking for a deep run in March. Anything, and everything else is just icing on the program’s cake. Well, that cake just got some extra flavors on it. Thanks to the new “cool” trend going on in hoops(Thanks Adidas) the Cardinals will join a slew of other teams who are now going to be rocking sleeves come March.

Both the women and men’s teams will be rocking the new look jerseys starting with the Big East Tournament. Say what you want about them, I am actually a fan, this is nothing new for the Louisville program. Last season saw the team going with an infrared look heading into postseason play.

Despite the awesome looking sleeved jersey, the shorts to leave a little me a little puzzled. I mean, they don’t even really match the Louisville jersey. This doesn’t just go for the Cardinals, but every other Adidas sponsored team will be rocking the sleeved look with the not so matching shorts.

Here is a look at what the Cardinals will be rocking in March:
