Duke Blue Devils Should Roll Virginia Tech on Senior Night

Tuesday night marks senior night in Durham, North Carolina and for three illustrious Duke Blue Devils, it also represents their final home game at Cameron Indoor.

At 25-4 overall, the Blue Devils have two games remaining on their regular season schedule. Following the conclusion of their final home game of the year against Virginia Tech, Duke will then turn their attention to their most hated rival as they look for a season sweep of North Carolina.

As for senior night however, things shouldn’t be too hard for the likes of Mason Plumlee, Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly. The Blue Devils trio of leaders will look to get the crowd and their teammates going early, especially after how things worked out the first time around against Virginia Tech.

Back on Feb. 21, Duke used a 20-point halftime lead to their advantage in an 88-56 victory over the Hokies. Now, that game was played in Blacksburg, but don’t expect anything different from the Blue Devils and their efforts to get off to another hot start.

Plumlee and Curry have been shining for the Blue Devils all season long and in fact, the inside-outside dynamic duo still forms a one-two punch atop the scoring category for Duke and head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Kelly on the other hand, returned to the lineup from injury on Saturday evening, exploding for 36 points in Duke’s victory over Miami (FL).

With a healthy senior trio now intact, the Blue Devils are looking mighty dangerous for a run in March. Yet once again, the focus remains on Tuesday night and taking care of business on a night that is meant to honor those four-year stars.
