Bubble Watch: Temple Could Be a Real Threat Within the NCAA Tournament

On Sunday afternoon, the Temple Owls got their biggest win since late December, knocking off VCU at home by a final score of 84-76.

The victory marked the Owls’ seven consecutive win and ninth over the course of their past ten games. Bottom line is this: Temple is hitting its stride and it couldn’t of come at a better time.

While some still believe that Temple is a bubble team, the NCAA committee has always been headstrong in selecting teams that are red-hot at the end of the season. Therefore, the Owls should certainly get the benefit of the doubt, in that regard.

With that being said however, they’d still like to make some noise within the Atlantic 10 Tournament in order to solidify things.

The Owls will await the winner of UMass and George Washington and if indeed it is the Minutemen who advance, then this would be a contest that you certainly do not want to miss. UMass needs to be productive down the stretch within the A-10 Tournament, so the Minutemen could be entering this potential contest with vengeance on their mind considering the Owls sneaked by the Minutemen by one just last month.

Even if Temple is upset within the conference tournament, they still should be a tournament team. The Owls have proven, most notably in their victory over VCU on Sunday, that they are a dangerous group.

No matter what seed the Owls pick up on Selection Sunday, they are a team that nobody should want to draw in the Round of 64.
