Georgetown Hoyas To Play Cincinnati Bearcats In Big East Tournament

It is all about surviving and advancing this time of the year and that is exactly what the Cincinnati Bearcats did against the Providence Friars–if you consider a 17 point victory surviving. Now, the Bearcats will take on the Georgetown Hoyas tomorrow.

The Hoyas have to like their odds in that game, considering that they are the No. 1 seed in the Big East tournament and they have already beaten Cincinnati once this season. That victory was even played on the road for Georgetown and we all know how hard it is to get a tough road win in college basketball.

Georgetown is currently ranked No. 5 in the country, thanks to their share of a Big East regular season title and overall record of 24-5. Although the Hoyas could possibly earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament by winning their conference tournament, they cannot look past the Bearcats.

Cincinnati should be in the dance, but they are not a lock and are fighting to make it into the tournament. That kind of pressure is an increased motivation for any team, whereas Georgetown is a lock and if they lose they will likely settle with a No. 3 seed or No. 2 seed. Rough life.

The Hoyas just got beat by another bubble team in the Villanova Wildcats, but they did finish out the season by beating the Syracuse Orange.

There are so many different teams that could win this conference, but Georgetown has to like its odds, sine it is on the top of the conference and all.
