The third game of day two in the SEC tournament is between last year’s SEC champions, the No. 10 seeded Vanderbilt Commodores, and the No. 7 seeded Arkansas Razorbacks. This will be a fast-paced game between two of the youngest teams in the SEC.

Arkansas will barely miss out on the NCAA tournament due to some rough losses at the end of the season and a terrible away record. The Razorbacks are young and it showed throughout the season in their losses to veteran teams. However, this is a decent team, and they should go to the NIT no matter what they do in the SEC tournament. Arkansas has the talent to make a deep run in the NIT.

Vanderbilt is a completely different team than the one that won the SEC championship last year — not one starter returned from last season. However, Kevin Stallings coaches his players so well that the Commodores had a very respectable record for a completely rebuilt team. There will be no SEC championship this year for Vanderbilt, but expect them to make the third round.

UPSET ALERT – Arkansas is dreadful away from home. The Razorbacks only won one road game all season long against the last place team in the SEC, the Auburn Tigers. The Razorbacks are young, as are the Commodores, but Vanderbilt will have a home crowd and will pull this one off. The NIT will be good for this young Arkansas team, though, and the Razorbacks will be ready to compete in the SEC next season with a lot of experience under their belt.
