The final match-up of day number two in the SEC tournament is between the No. 6 seeded Missouri Tigers and the No. 11 seeded Texas A&M Aggies.

Texas A&M is coming off a fairly difficult win over the Auburn Tigers. If the Aggies can win the game against Missouri, they will cement a spot in the NIT. Senior star Elston Turner will not want to leave Texas A&M without post-season play, so expect one of the best scorers in the country to put up 20+ points like he has all season. The Aggies will fight hard in this game. Missouri will wish that they had a better seed so they didn’t have a team with so much potential in the first round.

Missouri boasts some of the best players in the country in Keion Bell, Laurence Bowers and Phil Pressey and is headed to the NCAA tournament. However, the Tigers have lost four games out of seven against the top five teams in the SEC. The Tigers have every opportunity to win the SEC tournament, but looking at their regular season schedule, it doesn’t seem likely. Missouri has to get off to a good SEC tournament start if it wants to gain momentum and make a run. A win by double digits over the Aggies would do just that.

This will be an extremely close game. The Aggies are not the type of team Missouri wants to play in their first game of their first SEC tournament. The Tigers have a habit of choking when the pressure’s on, dating back to last year’s first round NCAA tournament exit to Norfolk State. Texas A&M is streaky and super-scorer Turner does not want to finish his collegiate career without making a bang. Defeating the Tigers Thursday night would be the perfect going away present for Turner, but Missouri is a good team when healthy and should win this game behind its explosive offense Bowers, Bell and Pressey.
