Record: 25-7

RPI: 15

BPI: 14

Conference: Pac-12 Conference

How They Qualified: At-Large Berth

The Arizona Wildcats have represented the Pac-12 Conference near the top of the AP Poll for much of this season. Some up and down play during the league schedule kept them away from the potential of earning an elite bid, but head coach Sean Miller certainly has his best team since taking over the Wildcats’ program.

The berth within the Big Dance this season is just the second for the program since 2009, but after missing the cut a season ago, it’s nice to see Arizona back within the fold here in 2013. The Wildcats are just two years removed from an Elite 8 in 2011, but don’t think that this team doesn’t have the capability of making some noise in the coming weeks.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Mark Lyons (14.9 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Kaleb Tarczewski (5.9 rpg)

Leading Passer: Nick Johnson (3.1 apg)

Bad Losses: USC

Good Wins: Florida, San Diego State, Colorado

Arizona never asserted themselves within Pac-12 play, which may be a cause for concern in terms of their overall projection heading into the NCAA Tournament. However, don’t take the Wildcats lightly because they certainly won’t be an easy out.

Mark Lyons and Solomon Hill provide a solid veteran presence for Arizona and their productivity in each potential round could be crucial down the stretch here in March.

The Arizona Wildcats are dancing!
