Record: 21-10

RPI: 44

BPI: 44

Conference: Mountain West Conference

How They Qualified: At-Large Berth

The Boise State Broncos needed some help on Selection Sunday and they got it. By way of an at-large victory, the Broncos are dancing for the first time since 2008 and just the second time since 1994. Boise State has never won a game within the NCAA Tournament, so we will see if that fact will change here in 2013.

The Broncos did get hot down the stretch, winning five of their last seven, despite a quarterfinal upset in the Mountain West Conference Tournament. Boise State has a solid one-two punch that could very well provide their opponent with some problems within the tournament’s field.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Anthony Drmic (17.3 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Ryan Watkins (6.8 rpg)

Leading Passer: Derrick Marks (3.9 apg)

Bad Losses: Utah, Nevada

Good Wins: Creighton, UNLV, San Diego State

Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks provide a crucial offensive tandem for Boise State and they will look to carry that over into the NCAA Tournament. The Broncos can score the basketball, averaging 73.3 points per game as a squad this season. That ranks at 46th in the nation.

Boise State has the power to make some noise this season and their berth within the NCAA Tournament is a testament to that. They were a bubble team down to the final selections, so there was obviously more than enough confidence in the NCAA committee’s decision to choose them.

The Boise State Broncos are dancing!
