2013 NCAA Tournament: Hype Continues to Build For Saint Louis’ Bracket Potential
The halfway point from Selection Sunday to the start of the second round on midday Thursday has nearly arrived as action begins in just two days.
The First Four Round will kick off on Tuesday night, but as the rest of the country begins to fill in their selections for the Big Dance, we take a look one team that has continued to gain steam over the last few days.
That of course is the Saint Louis Billikens.
Head coach Jim Crews took over this squad prior to the start of the season on an interim basis afterRick Majerus took a leave of absence for health concerns. Majerus passed away in early December and in a season being dedicated to his memory, the Billikens are shining.
Saint Louis earned a No. 4 seed within the Big Dance on Sunday and as the analysis of the bracket continues prior to its start, the Billikens are at the forefront of a lot of the discussions. Many fans and experts alike are quickly becoming huge fans of Saint Louis and their potential within the bracket. That run begins on Thursday when the Billikens square off against New Mexico State, the champions of theWAC Tournament.
Saint Louis is the favorite to emerge from the sub-region in San Jose and there has been even more talk about how the Billikens would be a true threat to Louisville in the Sweet 16, should things work out that way.
Well, let that hype continue because Saint Louis has earned it. Get on the board with the Billikens while you can, this team is a true threat to make some noise this March.
