2013 NCAA Tournament Preview: No. 11 Bucknell vs No. 6 Butler
At 12:40 (eastern) today a game will be played where a large amount of people feel an upset could be possible. The Butler Bulldogs are now a nationally known commodity, so naturally folks are ready to start tearing them back down. In their way of a long NCAA Tournament run will be the Bucknell Bison. Will the old Cinderella keep on dancing or will there be a passing of the slippers?
What to Watch For
Bucknell big man, Mike Muscala, has quickly become one of the tournaments worst kept secrets. Nearly on everyone and their mothers respective “Potential stars to look for” list, Muscala is the real thing. At 6’11, Muscala averages 19 points and 11 boards a game. The Bison are going to have to go to him early and often if they want to survive and advance.
Considering Butler is now a known program, it is still surprising that Rotnei Clarke does not get some more national play. The senior averages over 16 points per outing and is obviously the Bulldogs’ offensive catalyst. It should be an interesting cat and mouse game between the coaches to see what different defensive sets get thrown at Butler and how Brad Stevens reacts to them.
The winners are clearly going to be the fans. This game should be as enjoyable to watch as Teddy Ruxpin in your youth. Expect this game to go down to the wire.
