Right before the NCAA Tournament begins a team usually becomes a trendy pick to go deep in the big dance. This season, the Saint Louis Billikens are the team everyone is claiming as their sleeper pick to make a strong run in the tourney. While all well and good, Saint Louis will have to avoid teams they are unfamiliar with coming at them hard. The New Mexico State Aggies are going to be looking to be the team that makes the Billikens look like a fad more than a trend.

What to Watch For

All Dwayne Evans being all efficient, all the time. The junior is not only a legitimate rebounding threat, but can put the ball in the basket with a sense of ease. Evans shoots over .53 percent from the field — which is so efficient it is humorous. The Billikens are more known for their tenacious defense than a monster offense. However, with a player like Evans, don’t sleep on Saint Louis’ chances to put some points up in a hurry.

Daniel Mullings is one of those super-sleeper players who can become a star in just one game. Only a sophomore, Mullings can go off on any given day. Unfortunately, he can also disappear from games with an equal amount of effectiveness. Mullings will need to go bonkers for the Aggies to have a chance.

New Mexico State has a puncher’s chance to upset Saint Louis. However, they happen to be Glass Joe while Saint Louis is Mike Tyson.
