2013 NCAA Tournament Preview: No. 13 LaSalle vs No. 4 Kansas State

I don’t know if having a play-in game is an advantage or not, but it seems like ever since the LaSalle Explorers won their first NCAA Tournament outing that everyone is now picking them as their favorite Cinderella. What people tend to forget is that other teams are going to stand in the way from just letting LaSalle take a brisk walk into the Elite Eight. The Kansas State Wildcats are nobody’s pushover and will be looking to end LaSalle’s fairytale run before it even truly gets underway.

What to Watch For

Ramon Galloway looks ready to make a name for himself. Just one game removed from a 21-point performance, expect Galloway to look to attack the basket early and establish himself as an offensive force. The Explorers will need Galloway to continue riding his momentum throughout the entire game if they want to advance.

Somehow, Kansas State has become the afterthought when people are breaking down this game. The Wildcats are going to look to continue to play their brand of hoops. While LaSalle is going to try to force Kansas State into isolation offense, watch for the Wildcats to rely on heavy ball movement and backdoor cuts to the basket for easy buckets.

LaSalle is the trendy pick here. I’ve seen numerous experts talk about the momentum the Explorers are currently riding and how it will help them get past K-State. Well, there is momentum and then there is the next game’s opponent.
