Every media outlet in the nation has been playing the Eagles’ highlights to the point of nausea while avoiding any and all breakdown of how good they actually are. Instead, experts have been focused on what is wrong with Georgetown rather than what might be right with FGC (can I call them that?).
The only things we have learned about Florida Gulf Coast is that their school is on a beach, Charles Barkley still does not know where the university is located at and that their players sport hairdos from the early 1990′s.
The Eagles are in upset state of mind when they are going to play the San Diego State Aztecs later today. Neither team was expected to go to the Sweet Sixteen, but one of them is going where power-programs usually have more air-tight reservations.
I’d be lying if I told you who the Eagles’ best player is or what style of play they will need to infuse into their gameplan to upset SDSU, as I have watched them play as much as I’ve voted for American Idol (yes, I voted once). However, there is something to take away from their win against the Hoyas that might translate into another upset victory.
If Florida Gulf Coast could somehow manage to have this game air exclusively on YouTube or only in a highlight package, they are no longer the underdogs, but the favorites.
