2013 NCAA Tournament: No. 12 Oregon Ducks Have Two Great Victories

The No. 12 Oregon Ducks have two great wins in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. In fact, they arguably have two of the best wins in the entire tournament.

Yes, No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast did knock off the No. 2 Georgetown Hoyas in the second round, but then the Eagles took on the No. 7 San Diego State Aztecs. San Diego State was not expected to do a whole lot in the Big Dance.

Oregon, on the other hand, has played two very tough teams in the No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowboys and No. 4 Saint Louis Billikens. No other team in the dance has two quality wins quite like the Ducks.

No. 9 Wichita State can make a case, beating No. 8 Pittsburgh and No. 1 Gonzaga, but the Panthers are not the Billikens or Cowboys. Still, those are two very good wins for the Shockers and they have been great in the tournament so far.

Oklahoma State was a good enough team to win the Midwest Region, but Oregon still managed to beat the Cowboys by 13 points. Saint Louis had a great first game in the tourney winning by 20 points. Some people thought that the Billikens could possibly challenge No. 1 Louisville in the Sweet 16, but Oregon proved people wrong once again and beat Saint Louis by 17 points.

There have been plenty of great stories in the tournament so far, but Oregon has been great and has pulled off two pretty big upsets so far. An upset against the Cardinals would really make this Ducks team something special, but that will obviously be the toughest test that the Ducks have faced in the tourney.

With a victory in that game, Oregon will find itself in the Elite Eight.
