2013 NCAA Tournament: No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes Have A Lot of Momentum

After knocking down a three-pointer with basically no time left against the No. 10 Iowa State Cyclones, the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes have all of the momentum in the world heading into the Sweet 16 matchup against the No. 6 Arizona Wildcats.

Aaron Craft was the man for the Buckeyes in the third round. Everyone knew he was going to take the last shot for Ohio State and he still managed to drain the three, giving his team the three-point victory.

Craft also had 18 points, six assists and two steals in the game. You could definitely say that it was his night. Thanks to that impressive performance, the Buckeyes have a lot of momentum against Arizona, who has looked pretty good in two NCAA Tournament games.

Craft should enter tonight’s game with a little more swagger. He is known for his great defensive play, but he is definitely capable of putting up big numbers in the scoring department. He just needs to shoot the ball more when he is open.

However, just like always, Deshaun Thomas will have to do his part on the offensive side of the ball. Thomas is averaging 23 points per game in the Big Dance. He will likely continue his scoring ways against the Wildcats, since he usually scores around 20 points every game.

As if winning the Big Ten tournament wasn’t enough for Ohio State’s confidence, the game-winning shot against Iowa State has to have done it for this team.

However, Arizona will be no easy matchup for Ohio State, but the same could be said for the Wildcats playing the Buckeyes.
