If teams are getting increasingly anxious while coaches become even more grumpy than usual, it can only mean one thing — the NCAA Tournament has reached the Elite 8 portion of the program.

Time to put away Cinderella’s slippers as the Wichita State Shockers are no longer fooling anyone to think of them as a program with a little chance. A myth surrounding a coach’s kid has now become a legend, while the Ohio State Buckeyes look to return to the Final Four.

That is right, time for “neat” stories to put aside (kind of) and let the games speak for itself.

What to Watch For

It will be interesting to see if the Shockers can continue to implement their physical style of play. So far, not even “bigger” teams in the NCAA Tournament could compete with them. Ohio State is no pushover, however, so being physical alone might not be enough for Wichita State to pull off the upset. Still, it will be important for them to control the glass as it is their foundation for success throughout the whole season.

Does the Buckeyes have any tricks left in the bag? Two games in a row and two games that came right down to the wire. That isn’t a criticism of Ohio State, but it is worth pointing out that good fortune does have an end-date. Sooner or later, the Buckeyes need to take and keep control in games. Continuing to let games stay close is a sure fire way for them to get sent home packing.

This game is going to be close because, well, what else would you expect at this point?
