Lil Wayne Tweets Support For Louisville Sophomore Kevin Ware Following Leg Injury

As much of the nation is well aware of by now, Louisville sophomore guard Kevin Ware suffered a gruesome leg injury right alongside the Cardinals’ bench on Sunday afternoon.

Ware virtually snapped his leg in half in one of the worst sports injuries that you will ever see.

Since then, the support for Ware has been pouring in from all over. From the Twitter hash tags #WinForWare and #PrayForWire to the iconic photos surfacing of him in his hospital bed with the NCAA regional trophy in his arms.

Yes, the Cardinals won it for Ware on Sunday afternoon, using a huge second half run to their advantage following Ware’s injury. The sophomore was taken off the court on a stretcher and delivered to a local Indianapolis hospital where he underwent two hours of successful surgery on Sunday night. Ware has since been visited by teammates, coaches and family members and is alert and even standing with crutches.

That support however, reached a new height on Sunday night when famous rapper Lil Wayne tweeted out his support. Lil Wayne has over 10 million Twitters followers and the tweet directed at Ware received over 10,000 re-tweets and 4,000+ favorites.

That’s quite the fame and support for Ware, who must now face a long road to recovery.

Ware is scheduled to be released from the Indianapolis hospital on Tuesday and the Cardinals are hoping to have him at their Final Four contest in Atlanta this Saturday.
