After Sunday’s horrific injury, Louisville guard Kevin Ware is recovering nicely following a two hour surgical procedure to repair a broken right leg.
The injury, which sent shock waves through the world of college basketball on Sunday afternoon, has brought about an abundant amount of support for Ware and his push for a speedy recovery. Even famous rapper Lil Wayne offered his support via Twitter.
Well, less than 24 hours after the gruesome injury, the plan is for Ware to travel with the team from Indianapolis to Atlanta on Wednesday. A Sunday evening statement that was released by the university stated that Ware was to be released from the hospital on Tuesday and that remains the case if everything goes according to plan.
Ware will remain in Indy until at least Tuesday, when he’s hopeful to return to Louisville and then join the Cards as they travel to Atlanta

The Cardinals won an emotional game following Ware’s injury, keying a victory over Duke with a huge second half advantage. Now Louisville is onto their second consecutive Final Four and must prepare for No. 9 Wichita State.
The Shockers advanced out of the West Region and their play has obviously been quite the surprise. Louisville however, has tackled every test that has come their way since the start of the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
Tip-off on Saturday evening is scheduled for 6:09pm (EST).
