UNLV Forward Mike Moser Reportedly Leaning Towards Transferring to Washington

Troy Babbit-USA Today Sports

The sky was seemingly the limit for UNLV forward Mike Moser following the 2012-13 season.

Moser was widely-regarded as a first round NBA Draft selection, but the 6-foot-8 forward made the decision to return to school for his junior season. While incoming freshman Anthony Bennett stole the headlines in the paint, Moser dealt with an injury-plagued season. He averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this past season, a sizeable decrease from the production he offered as a sophomore the year before.

According to a report from CBSSports‘ Jeff Goodman, Moser is likely on the move now and leaning towards transferring to Washington. Moser has enough credits to graduate this spring and according to Goodman’s sources, he could make the decision to finish the semester and transfer without having to sit out the 2013-14 season.

If this turns out to be the case, the Huskies would certainly be getting a big boost to their front court. Moser has proven in the past on numerous occasions that he has the capability of putting of double-double type numbers on a nightly basis.

According to the report, Moser could potentially still enter is name into this year’s NBA Draft, but given the injuries and lack of production this season compared to his sophomore year, that appears highly unlikely.

Moser would have the opportunity to step right in and produce for Washington and head coach Lorenzo Romar and the move could be exactly what he needs to jump start his professional potential.
