2013 NBA Draft: North Carolina Tar Heels Awaiting Early Entry Decisions

The North Carolina Tar Heels may have not had their typical type of season, but that does not mean it was a complete bust. After a pretty rocky start, and through some inconsistency, the Tar Heels were able to go from the wrong side of the bubble to eventually making the big dance. Now, the offseason brings some hope to the program — albeit, hope pending the return of a few players.

James Michael McAdoo and P.J. Hairston are two players which might make the potential leap to the pros. Most expect Hairston to come back. In fact, it is pretty heavily rumored and reported on that it is a near mortal-lock for him to return.

McAdoo’s decision, on the other hand, is much more mysterious than his teammates. Silence seems to be the only noise surrounding the athletic big, but the lack of noise does not give much insight to whether or not he plans to remain with the team.

Regardless, the players only have a few short weeks left to make their intentions known. By the end of the month Roy Williams will know for sure which players plan to stick around or which are declaring early entry to the pros. For now, however, all he can do is wait it out and see.

If the players were to come back, combined with the incoming freshmen talent, many feel the Tar Heels will be worthy of a preseason top 10 ranking. Time will tell on what kind of team North Carolina will be throwing out next year.
