JUCO Stud Craig Brown Transferring to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights

By Joseph Nardone

Eddie Jordan has seemed like he has been the head coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for months when in fact, Jordan has only had the job in its official capacity for a very short while.

Still, Jordan is trying to do his best to quickly move away from the Mike Rice debacle and steer the program towards a more positive direction. You know, one which involves more winning and far less throwing basketballs and players while screaming homophobic slurs.

That is why it has been important for Jordan to let players who wanted to leave the program go. There was no need for him to block transfers and hold onto a delusional idea that these guys would play for a new coach. The players wanted out of a situation where it is definitely going to be as important to rebuild the talent base as it was to rebuild the program’s image.

Jordan also knew it would be equally as important to bring in new players. Ones that actually wanted to be there post-Rice headlines. Well, the new coach got one of his first big transfers of the offseason. Rutgers has announced that junior college man-beast Craig Brown signed his letter of intent to transfer to the program.

Brown scored over 20 points and grabbed over seven boards a game  in what turned out to be his final season with Broward (Fla.) Community College. He was also originally committed to play for Rice — making Brown the only Rice recruited player to stay committed to the program despite the fiasco and the coaching change.
