Marquette Golden Eagles Coach Buzz Williams Throwing A Baseball

If cable television has taught me anything, it is that if you are not first, you are last — those are words said by the great Ricky Bobby of Talladega Nights fame.

That is where the Marquette Golden Eagles come in because, well, they were first (kind of). Buzz Williams led the Golden Eagles to a share of the final Big East regular season title as we knew it. Thanks to doing so, the team is going to be honored by none other than MLB‘s Milwaukee Brewers.

Monday, the Brewers will be honoring the Golden Eagles’ accomplishment by having Williams throw out the first pitch and holding some form of ceremony or on-field props prior to the game — proving yet again that Milwaukee loves their sports teams.

The biggest question heading into Monday’s game will be if Williams plans on throwing the stinky cheese. A lot of celebrities choose to loft the ball toward the catcher’s direction in the hopes that it doesn’t take three bounces to get there. Being the person who throws the first pitch is often a no-win situation.

Williams, however, has already shown a unique skill-set. Not only can he coach, but he can also dance with the best of them.

Can he save himself from embarrassment and throw a strike, or will he hit a poor schmuck a few rows back in the stands? These are things I want to know and — luckily for me — it will be answered on Monday.
