Ole Miss Rebels’ Murphy Holloway Goes From College Basketball To the NFL

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Ole Miss Rebels had a very good player for the past four seasons in Murphy Holloway. However, he is going pro, but it will not be for an NBA team, according to NBC.

Instead, Holloway will be taking his talents to the NFL as a Baltimore Raven.

For someone who averaged 14.5 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game in his senior year, you would think that Holloway would be able to make it in the NBA, however, playing in the NFL is probably also pretty cool.

You could say that Holloway is a big boy, standing at 6’7” and weighing 240 pounds. It will be interesting to see how Holloway is used for as a Raven and how much of an impact that he will have for the team.

Holloway helped lead the Rebels to the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Ole Miss pulled off the upset against Wisconsin in its first game of the tourney, but lost a close one against La Salle in the very next game. Holloway had a combined 24 points and 22 rebounds in two tournament games.

As you may know, Baltimore is coming off of a victory in the Super Bowl, so Holloway will be joining a very good team right off the bat.

Although Holloway was a pretty big name in college basketball this season, his name likely did not get a whole lot of recognition when it came to going to the NFL. Regardless, Holloway is now a Baltimore Raven and hopefully he can transition to the NFL and have a successful career.
