Arizona Wildcats to Play in 2013-14 NIT Season Tip-Off

Sean Miller has had an interesting last few months to say the least. Not only was the Arizona Wildcats coach pushed to the forefront of a Pac 12 scandal when Ed Rush may have gone after him in evil and diabolical ways, but he is also losing three of his top four scorers as well as another player, Grant Jerrett, to the pros in one of the most surprising early entries in the history of the world.

I doubt that is how Miller envisioned his 2013 year going, although there are plenty of swell things for him to look forward to in the future. His recruiting classes, according to several major recruiting sites, are shaping up to be one of the best in the nation over the next few years.

Another slightly less relevant piece of Wildcats information has also come to light. Arizona is going to be one of the host universities for the 2013-14 NIT Season Tip-Off.

The NIT Season Tip-Off takes place during Thanksgiving weekend at Madison Square Garden. The first few games, however, are played at some of the “bigger” schools that are invited to participate home arena. This will be a great opportunity for Miller to help recruit the east coast as well as push the program on the national stage.

Not every school that will be in the event has been announced. So far, Arizona joins a lineup that features the Duke Blue Devils, Alabama Crimson Tide and Rutgers Scarlet Knights — all of which are also going to be host sites.
