Seton Hall Pirates Have Not Danced Since 2006

The Seton Hall Pirates have not made the NCAA Tournament since 2006. For a team that plays in the Big East, this is well overdue. Will next year be the year that the Pirates earn a pair of dancing shoes?

Well, I wouldn’t get too pumped up about it after the season that Seton Hall had. The Pirates were 15-18 overall and 3-15 in the Big East Conference. As you can see, this team did absolutely horrible in conference play. After finishing last season with 21 wins, this was not the kind of year that Seton Hall wanted.

If this team wants to make the tournament, it has to do better in conference play, among some other things. Luckily, the Big East–or whatever it is being called nowadays–will be much different next year, so the Pirates will not have to play as tough of competition, but it still will not be easy.

It does not help when one of your best players decides to transfer, but Seton Hall will have to get past that. Although they had a very easy non-conference schedule, they still only had two losses when Big East play started. If this happens again next season, the Pirates need to work off of that momentum and win some conference games.

With that said, Seton Hall has not been in the dance for awhile and if they plan on doing so sometime soon, this team is just going to have to start getting better recruits and develop their players better. However, that is way easier said than done and there are also other problems that likely need to be fixed.
