The Wichita State Shockers had one heck of a Cinderella run in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, but the party is over and it is time to think about next season–unless if you are one of those people who likes to dwell on the pass. In that case, have at it. However, for the people who actually are looking ahead to the 2013-14 college basketball season, the Shockers will have two key departures that will hurt this team.
Those two players are Carl Hall and Malcolm Armstead. Both players were seniors this past season and both players played huge roles for the Shockers.

Armstead averaged 10.7 points per game on the year, while Hall averaged 12.5 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. There is not much that Wichita State can do to make up for the losses of these two players.
Cleanthony Early will be back and he has to be the leader of this team. With more playing time, he could easily average more than 13.9 points per game, which led the team.
There are also some other players that will have to step up and play bigger roles next season, which includes Ron Baker, Tekele Cotton and Fred VanVleet. All three of those players played quite a bit this past season, but now it will be their time to take more shots and be more of a threat on the offensive side of the ball.
With that said, Hall and Armstead will still be missed, but that does not mean that the Shockers won’t have another great year next season.
