C.J. Fair Set To Have A Breakout Season For Syracuse Orange

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Although C.J. Fair has been great in a Syracuse Orange uniform, he is set to have a breakout year in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Let’s just put it this way, Fair led the team in points and rebounds this past season. Although his 14.5 points per game and seven rebounds per game could be considered as breaking out, he has the talent to be even better in his senior year. Although a couple of players no longer being on the team will hurt Syracuse overall, the team should now be Fair’s.

That is not saying that there will not be talent outside of Fair, but Fair will be playing in his final year, he has the experience and he will be the best player on this team.

Fair shot 47 percent from the field and 46.9 percent from behind the arc. Both of those numbers are good and with an even larger role on the team, Fair could score at a very high rate.

Like always, Syracuse will probably have a great defense, but Fair could really shine as the go-to guy for this team. With more playing time this past season, Fair shined. Now, with that much playing time and the ball in his hand more, he could be one of the best players in the country.

He has the talent and size to achieve that feat and it will be interesting to see how he is used next season, with quite a bit of talent no longer being on the team. However, it would seem like a breakout season is in store for Fair.
