Landing Mike Moser Would Have Been Huge For Gonzaga Bulldogs

Steve Dykes-USA TODAY Sports

Landing Mike Moser would have been huge for Gonzaga, but unfortunately for the Bulldogs, he has made the decision to transfer and play for the Oregon Ducks.

Gonzaga is coming off of arguably their best regular season in school history. Unfortunately, it will be losing its two leading scorers in Kelly Olynyk and Elias Harris. Both players helped make up a very dominate front court at Gonzaga this past season, which is where Moser would have come in.

You could say that Moser had a nightmare season and definitely did not perform as well as he did in his sophomore season, where he put up 14 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. This past season, he was only able to score 7.1 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game.

At 6’8” and healthy, Moser could easily be one of the best players in the country next season. Although Gonzaga will be bringing back some talent, Moser would have been the gigantic cherry on top.

Moser could use a good senior season, since his draft stock likely went way down. With a good season, though, that stock could come right back up. The only problem is the fact that it won’t be with Gonzaga.

It is too bad that Moser could not finish his college basketball career at UNLV, but that is well in the past and the big man will finish up college hoops in a Ducks uniform. With that said, the Bulldogs will have to make up for their losses in the front court, and Moser will not be apart of that process.
