With Otto Porter Jr. dashing off to the 2013 NBA Draft, someone is going to have to take over for the Georgetown Hoyas in the 2013-14 college basketball season. Can senior Markel Starks be that guy?

Starks averaged the second most points on the team this past season with 12.8 points per game. He was also a very efficient shooter, making 45.7 percent of his shots, along with 41.7 percent of his threes. With Porter Jr. no longer being on the team, there is a good chance that Starks will take more shots. If that is the case, you can bet that his points per game will go way up.

With that said, Starks did average 10.6 attempts per game.

There are a couple of other very talented players that are coming back next season that could very easily lead this team in points, but Starks is the most likely go-to guy, since he did shoot the ball the second most times on the team.

Starks got about 10 more minutes of playing time per game this past season and it really paid off for Georgetown. Although Porter Jr. was by far the best player on the team, he could not have done it alone.

Who knows how good the Hoyas will be next season, but Starks has the ability to lead this team in his senior year. One thing that will likely not change from this team is Starks being the best three-point shooter. He made a team-high 63 three-pointers and will have a good chance to increase that number next season.
