Hopefully Miami Hurricanes Fans Enjoyed Last Season

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

I hope Miami Hurricanes fans enjoyed the success that Miami had during the 2012-13 college basketball season while it lasted, because it will be short lived.

Sure, Miami could still make the NCAA Tournament and be a threat in the ACC, but it will likely be awhile until they are as good as they were this past season.

Kenny Kadji, Shane Larkin and Durand Scott leaving is a huge hit to this team. However, the next three highest scorers on Miami were seniors this past seaspn. That does not leave a lot left on the Hurricanes to work with. Sure, five players will suit up every game and there will be players on the bench, but talent wise, this team is losing way to much.

It helps that Angel Rodriguez is transferring to the school, but even he will likely not be able to lead this team to the same success it encountered this past season.

Miami needs a good recruiting class or a breakout season from someone and they need it fast.

Before this season, the Hurricanes had only made the NCAA Tournament six times, according to ESPN. With that said, it is very easy to say that the hoops team has not enjoyed the same success as the football team at this school.

The Hurricanes may have been a No. 2 seed in the Big Dance and finished with an overall record of 29-7, while winning both the ACC tournament and regular season title, but it may be a long time before that happens again. So, hopefully Miami fans enjoyed that while it lasted.
