Everyone wants the ability to live a good life. No matter what walk of life you come from, what your dreams and inspirations may be or what you do for a living, everyone wants to be happy and live a good life. Jim Livengood (real name, get it? Get it?!) was one of those people who had his fair share of good days and bad, but he might end up being remembered for all the good he brought to something else other than himself.

Livengood is the Athletic Director for the UNLV Rebels. Well, that is until June 30, when the man plans to retire and enjoy the good life. The university announced — with heavy hearts — on Wednesday that Livengood, who has been an AD for four schools over 28 years, is finally hanging it up.

The 68-year-old has only been with the UNLV program since December of 2009, but has been instrumental in re-establishing its basketball program as one of the best on the west coast as well as becoming more and more relevant nationally. The program, which will go on without him just fine, will have to do its best in finding a man with as much experience as Livengood.

The fact that Livengood’s career in sports started in 1969 with a high school coaching position and then ended with UNLV in 2013 just shows how good he was at every job he has ever taken on.

At least we can now presume that Jim will be Live-in-Good for the rest of his time on this planet. And yes, I am terribly sorry for that horrible whatever you want to call it right there.
