Virginia Cavaliers to Host Wisconsin for ACC/Big 10 Challenge

Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

There is nothing less fun than watching a couple of basketball teams who have the inability to put the ball in the basket play each other. I suppose people who are in charge of putting together schedules do not really care about such trivial things like my entertainment. Sometimes, in all fairness, games have to be played regardless if I am interested in watching them. I mean, I am just some dude after all.

College hoops does have a tremendous yearly battle for conference domination, the ACC /Big 10 Challenge. It is a wonderful thing where the two conferences have their schools face off with one another in a quest to see which league is perceived to be more dominant. Every once in awhile it also gives us a preview of potential games in the big dance down the road.

One of the match-ups announced happens to fall in that “first to score 50″ type of games. It has been reported that the Virginia Cavaliers will host the Wisconsin Badgers. The two programs played each other last season, a game that resulted with UVA coming out the victors, 60-54.

Considering that the ACC is shaping up to be the toughest league in college hoops next season, Virginia adding Wisconsin to their schedule just makes their road that much tougher. Granted, their strength of schedule may end up being out of this world and their saving grace come Selection Sunday.

Because there is currently 11 billion teams in the ACC next season (or something like that), three programs will be absent from the event.
