Patric Young Must Lead Florida Gators in SEC

The Florida Gators are one of the favorites to win the SEC in the 2013-2014 college basketball season. However, the SEC will be far stronger than it has been in recent years. The Gators will have to compete with the LSU Tigers, the Tennessee Volunteers, the Kentucky Wildcats and the Alabama Crimson Tide for the regular season title.

If Florida wants to succeed against a much tougher conference schedule, the Gators will have to rely on their returning star in the post, Patric Young. Young is an elite collegiate player and will be able to cause havoc in the post all season long. Young is the key to whether or not the Gators have a successful season and win the SEC regular season title for the year season in a row.

Young is inconsistent. He has been inconsistent since he started playing for the Gators. He would carry the team on his back in one game and post ridiculous numbers, only to completely collapse in the next game and barely help at all. His inconsistency is much of the reason Florida lost many of the games that it did last season.

Florida will have a great season, but winning the SEC will be tougher than ever. Billy Donovan has his work cut out for him, and elite play by Young could make a young Gators team much better. Look for Young to play consistently, and the Gators to be one of the teams at the top of the SEC at the end of the season.
