A Look At Syracuse Orange’s Incoming Recruiting Class

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY

The Syracuse Orange are coming off of a great season in which they made a run to the Final Four in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Although some key players will no longer be on the team, let’s take a look at the Orange’s incoming recruiting class that could take the court next season.

Syracuse’s prize of the 2013 recruiting class is 5-star Tyler Ennis. He is ranked as the No. 20 recruit in the nation, according to ESPN. Being rated so high, you would think that Ennis would take over at the point guard position for Syracuse, since Michael Carter-Williams declared for the 2013 NBA Draft and all.

Ennis is not the only good player coming in though. Syracuse will also be getting three 4-stars and one 3-star.

Along with Ennis, Tyler Roberson and B.J. Johnson are ranked in ESPN’s top 100 for the incoming recruiting class.

The Orange will be getting a player at every position, with Johnson being a small forward, Roberson a power forward, Ennis a point guard, Ron Patterson a shooting guard and Chinonso Obokoh a center.

With the looks of this recruiting class, it would look like Syracuse is set for the near future. However, who knows how any of these players will impact the team until the season actually starts. However, like I said early, Ennis should make an instant impact being such a highly rated recruit.

With some key players returning to the team and a great recruiting class, the Orange should not skip a beat in the 2013-14 college basketball season.
