Clemson Tigers head coach Brad Brownell has landed recruit Sidy Mohamed Djitte, according to Fayobserver.com. What kind of an impact can Djitte have and is Brownell doing a good enough job at Clemson?

Just like any recruit, it is hard to speculate how Djitte will do until we actually see him playing college hoops. Not to mention, we will have to wait and see what role he plays for the Tigers and all of that fun stuff. He stands at 6’10”, so he will definitely play at the big man position for Clemson.

As for Brownell, there is high expectations for him, since Clemson does play in the ACC. However, his 13-18 record with the team this past season is not cutting it. Just a season ago, the Tigers were not much better with only 16 wins. That is not the type of success that you want out of your basketball program, especially when playing in such a competitive conference.

Many things need to happen at Clemson for this team to compete, and hopefully Djitte can make a big enough impact to help with some of those things. The Tigers have to get better in conference play, though, because a 5-13 conference record is just not going to cut it.

Hopefully for Brownell and Djitte, Clemson has a good year in the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, that remains to be seen.

Whether the case, Brownell is recruiting players. Now it is time for him to develop those players, put the best players on the court and start winning some basketball games.
